I'm using this module with success

i've got question related to optimization of addon workflow.

i wonder if it is possible to make the url that module generates to on-line feed a bit shorter?

currently it contains all variables?

Sure, it can be done with latest version of the module

it contains feature to "save" feed (you will be able to edit it anytime you want).

if you will save feed in this way, module will generate short url to feed as i show on example below

you can also use url shortener feature like bit.ly etc :)

Yes, in PrestaShop, the URL for a scheduled fetch, such as for Google Merchant Center feeds, can be shortened to optimize workflows. By default, modules like the Google Merchant Center Feed module generate URLs that may include multiple variables, making them lengthy. To shorten the URL, you can configure the module to save the feed in a way that generates a simpler URL. For example, saving the feed to a file in the module's directory (e.g., for use in a cron job) can produce a shorter, cleaner URL. Additionally, you can use an external URL shortener service like Bitly to further reduce the length of the feed URL. This approach was discussed in a PrestaShop forum post where users explored optimizing the feed URL for scheduled fetches.

To implement this:

  1. Access the module settings in your PrestaShop back office (e.g., Modules > Module Manager > Google Merchant Center Feed).
  2. Configure the feed to be saved as a file or adjust the export settings to exclude unnecessary variables.
  3. Optionally, integrate a URL shortener service to create a more concise link for the scheduled fetch.

Ensure the shortened URL remains functional for Google's scheduled fetch requirements. Always test the new URL to confirm it works correctly with the feed.
